Equipment You’ll Need

To make these Nutella soufflés, you’ll need:

Why Air Fryers Are Perfect for This Recipe

  • Even Cooking: The circulating hot air ensures a beautifully risen soufflé.
  • Quicker Than an Oven: No need to preheat for long—just 140°C (275°F) and you’re ready.
  • No Water Bath Needed: Traditional soufflés require extra steps, but the air fryer does all the work.
  • Perfectly Crisp Top: The top stays firm while the inside remains soft and airy.

Ingredients for Nutella Soufflés

  • 2 large eggs
  • 170g (generous ½ cup) Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread
  • Optional: Icing (powdered) sugar, for dusting

How to Make Nutella Soufflés

Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer

Set your air fryer to 140˚C (275˚F). This ensures an even, gentle bake.

Step 2: Separate the Eggs

Crack the 2 large eggs into a bowl. Carefully separate the whites into one bowl and yolks into another.

Step 3: Whip the Egg Whites

Using an electric hand mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. This is key to getting a fluffy soufflé. Set them aside.

Step 4: Mix Nutella and Egg Yolks

Add 170g Nutella to the egg yolks. Use the electric hand mixer to combine them until fully mixed. The texture may look grainy, don’t worry, this is normal.

Step 5: Fold in the Egg Whites

Gently fold the egg whites into the Nutella mixture, one-third at a time. Use a spatula and go slowly to keep as much air in as possible. The mixture should be light and smooth when done.

Step 6: Fill the Ramekins

Spoon the mixture evenly into two greased ramekins, filling them about ¾ full.

Step 7: Air Fry the Soufflés

Place the ramekins in the air fryer basket or in the oven. Air fry at 140˚C (275˚F) for 18 minutes or Bake in the oven at 190C/(170C fan) for 18 minutes until the soufflés are puffed and firm on top but slightly wobbly in the centre. Be careful, the ramekins will be very hot.

Step 8: Serve and Enjoy

Dust with icing sugar, grab a spoon and dig in while warm!

Why This Recipe Works for Any Occasion

These Nutella soufflés are great for special occasions, but easy enough for a quick evening dessert. Whether it’s a last-minute dessert or a fun baking project, you’ll love how simple it is.

Plus, it’s a great way to impress guests without needing any fancy ingredients.

Tips for the Best Nutella Soufflés

  • Use Room Temperature Eggs: They whip better, creating more volume.
  • Don’t Overmix the Egg Whites: Overbeating can make them dry and hard to fold in.
  • Fold Gently: This keeps as much air as possible for the best rise.
  • Watch the Cooking Time: Every air fryer is slightly different—check at 18 minutes and adjust if needed.
  • Serve Immediately: Soufflés deflate quickly, so enjoy them straight away!

Serving Suggestions

These Nutella soufflés are amazing on their own, but here are a few ways to serve them:

  • With a Scoop of Ice Cream – Vanilla or hazelnut ice cream pairs beautifully.
  • With Fresh Berries – Strawberries or raspberries add a tangy contrast.
  • With a Drizzle of Melted Chocolate – Extra indulgence for chocolate lovers.
