Making baked Camembert in the air fryer is quick, mess-free, and ensures perfectly melted cheese every time. This recipe is featured in my latest book, Fitwaffle’s Easy Air Fryer, now available on Amazon!

What Makes This Recipe Special?

Baked Camembert is one of the easiest yet most impressive starters to serve. The honey drizzle, olive oil, and seasoning take the flavour to the next level.

With just a few minutes of prep and a quick cook time, this dish is perfect for parties or last-minute indulgence. Pair it with crusty bread, veggies, or crackers for the ultimate dipping experience.

Equipment You’ll Need

To make this recipe, you’ll need:

  • Air fryer (or oven) – For perfectly gooey, melty Camembert. I used a Tower 11L Air Fryer, it’s my favourite Air Fryer.
  • Knife – To score the top of the cheese.
  • Bread knife – To slice the ciabatta or baguette for dipping.

Why Air Fryers Are Perfect for This Recipe

  1. Quick Cooking: The air fryer melts the cheese evenly and in less time than a traditional oven.
  2. Crispy Bread: If you’re serving bread, the air fryer crisps it up perfectly while the cheese bakes.
  3. Energy-Efficient: Air fryers use less energy than ovens, saving time and money.
  4. Minimal Cleanup: With just the air fryer basket to clean, this recipe is as easy to clean up as it is to make.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Baked Camembert

  • 1 wheel of Camembert (preferably served in a wooden box)
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 small ciabatta bread or baguette (optional, for dipping)

How to Make Air Fryer Baked Camembert

Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer

Set your air fryer to 180˚C (350˚F) to preheat while you prepare the Camembert.

Step 2: Prepare the Camembert

Remove the Camembert from its packaging/wrapping, then place it back in the bottom half of its wooden box. If your cheese didn’t come with a wooden box, you can use a small, air fryer-safe dish.

Step 3: Score and Season

Using a knife, score the top of the cheese into eighths, creating a criss-cross pattern. Drizzle with olive oil and honey, then season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Step 4: Add the Bread

If you’re serving bread, slice the ciabatta or baguette into thin, dippable pieces. Feel free to give these a little drizzle of olive oil or top with butter.

Step 5: Air Fry the Camembert

Place the prepared Camembert and bread slices into the air fryer basket. Cook for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is gooey and the bread is golden brown, and crispy.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

Carefully remove the Camembert from the air fryer, then serve immediately with the toasted bread, crackers, or veggies for dipping.

Why This Recipe is Perfect for Sharing

Because it’s so quick and easy, it’s also perfect as a last-minute appetizer when you want to impress your guests.

Tips for the Best Baked Camembert

  1. Use a Good-Quality Cheese: Choose a ripe, high-quality Camembert for the best flavour and texture.
  2. Don’t Overcook: Keep an eye on the cheese as it bakes—overcooking can cause it to split.
  3. Customize the Toppings: Try adding fresh rosemary, garlic, or chili flakes for extra flavour.
  4. Serve Immediately: Baked Camembert is best enjoyed fresh out of the air fryer while it’s hot and gooey.

Serving Suggestions

This baked Camembert pairs perfectly with a variety of dippers. Here are some ideas:

  • Bread: Crusty ciabatta, baguette slices, or breadsticks.
  • Crackers: A selection of your favourite crackers or breadsticks.
  • Veggies: Carrot sticks, cucumber, celery, or sliced bell peppers.

For an extra indulgent touch, drizzle more honey over the cheese just before serving.
